McAfee SECURE certification is a powerful tool for increasing trust and boosting sales on any website. We offer several automatic integrations for platforms like Shopify, BigCommerce, and Wordpress. If you are a developer and looking to integrate the solution, you've come to the right place. If you don't have an account yet, you'll want to create one and add your website. Once your site passes our initial security scan, you'll be ready to implement the product.
The main code and the floating trustmark
The main code has two functions. 1) It will show the floating trustmark and 2) it will allow inline trustmarks to open the verification modal directly on your site.
To enable these features, you'll want to add the following code to your site. We recommend adding it to every page below the closing

By default, the code will place the floating trustmark on the bottom right corner of the page and when clicked, will open the verification modal. You can change these settings via the setup wizard. If you're on a Pro plan you can move the trustmark to the left, turn it off, or offset it from either edge.
We offer two inline trustmark options that can be used around key engagement areas, like near credit card fields, in the footer of the site, and whenever your site asks for personal information. You'll need a Pro plan for these to work. We serve these files as SVGs for optimal legibility for all screen resolutions.
The Engagement trustmark
The engagement trustmark can be added wherever you need it with the following code:
You can customize the
w parameter to any size between 60px and 120px wide. If you've installed the engagement trustmark on a page with the main code, clicking on it will open the verification modal. Otherwise it will redirect to the verification page. You can also use this with an HTML-only version, which is custom to every site. The code can be found on the setup wizard.
The Shopper Identity Protection trustmark
Shopper Identity Protection is a feature that increases conversions by letting customers know they're protected by a free $100,000 coverage in the event of identity theft. Customers need to have activated the feature to take advantage of the coverage. This trustmark always displays at 320px by 40px and can be added with the following code:
Purchase tracking for Shopper Identity Protection
In order to offer Shopper Identity Protection to your customers, you'll need to tell us who has made a purchase. You'll want to add and fill in the following code after a purchase is completed.

You'll want to set the unique orderid, as well as the customer's name, country and email. Shopper Identity Protection only applies to the United States and Canada, and we don't store any data from other countries. You have several options available to you for offering the coverage. You can either show a modal, a small slide up, or automatically have us send the activation email. If you choose the modal or slide up, customers will have the option to receive the protection or decline it. If they accept, or you choose the email option, customers will receive an email to complete their activation in two easy steps and will then begin their 90-days of complimentary coverage of up to $100,000 in the event of their identity being stolen.

Several features are available automatically with little-to-no set-up required:
We offer consumers a directory to find certified sites to do business with. In order to appear here, you need to fill out your directory listing and have at least one trustmark on your site seen within the last 3 days. Your site will also have to maintain its SECURE status.
McAfee® SiteAdvisor® software and McAfee® WebAdvisor annotate search results for tens of millions of users and will show your McAfee SECURE certification in Google, Yahoo and Bing automatically. This feature requires a Pro subscription.
Website Diagnostics and Search Submission
With a Pro subscription, we'll automatically crawl and index your site listing on a weekly basis. If we find any issues like broken links, missing images, 404 errors and slow loading pages, we will alert you. Additionally, we'll automatically submit the sitemap to Google, Yahoo, and Bing, but for best performance we recommend adding our automatically generated sitemap to your
robots.txt. This code is custom to each site and can be found in the setup wizard. Both of these features require the Pro plan.
